Here is more information about our Laboratory Science T Level and Sports courses offered at Reading College for any of your young people who are interested in the two courses below:

Laboratory Science T Level:

For students interested in pursuing a career in science, Reading College offers a wide range of course options. For those wishing to combine classroom learning with valuable industry experience, the Laboratory Science T Level provides a thorough education in laboratory techniques, as well as a deep understanding of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The programme, equivalent to three A Levels, is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue employment, apprenticeships, or higher education opportunities. The programme is assessed via two written examinations and an employer set project and, upon completion, attracts UCAS points (please check the UCAS website for more information). Once students have completed this T Level, there are multiple progression routes available, including employment, higher education, or an apprenticeship.

Sports:

At Reading College, we offer specialised sports courses for students passionate about football or coaching. They can choose from the Sports Foundation, Sport Intro Dip L1 with Reading FC Community Trust, or Sport (Coaching with Reading FC) L2 NCFE.

Our courses are designed for students who live and breathe sports. While there are some classroom assignments, most of the learning takes place through hands-on experience, training as athletes.

For those interested in other areas of sports, our Sports Therapy and Exercise Science pathway is a great option. We offer Sports Foundation, Sport L2, and Sport L3 courses, providing practical experience through employer partnerships in the sports, fitness, and therapy industries. Students will study anatomy, physiology, psychology, exercise, and health, while gaining skills in fitness testing, sports massage, injury treatment, and coaching. Our onsite gyms are equipped with the latest training equipment to help students stay fit and advance their studies.

Each year, over 900 students enrol in our sports courses and apprenticeships, and we are proud to support their sporting journeys. After completing their course, students can pursue careers as athletes, coaches, sports therapists, journalists, or match officials. With the sports industry contributing £12.2bn to the UK economy, it's a dynamic field to enter. Find out more here: Sport - Reading College
