Degree apprenticeships offer a dynamic blend of academic study and practical work experience. They provide a unique pathway to kickstart your career while obtaining a valuable university qualification. The Sixth Formers' Guide to Degree Apprenticeships is a free 100-page digital guide, produced in association with the Department for Education and The Careers & Enterprise Company, that will help introduce Year 12 students to degree apprenticeships and the employers who offer them.
AWE: School Leaver Programme
AWE recruitment window opens on 13 October and they have roles across a variety of fields from Project Management to Engineering. Historically these have been extremely popular and they will probably close the window as soon as they have enough interest, so act promptly.

InvestIN Work Experience Programs
InvestIN delivers immersive work experience programmes in London for students aged 15-18. With 15 competitive careers to choose from, each programme is delivered by accomplished industry experts to equip students with a 360-degree insight into their respective fields. Autumn weekend programmes now open.

International Art, Design & Architecture Education Fair
FORMA, the international art, design & architecture education fair, brings together globally prestigious universities and institutions. FORMA 2025 will be taking place 2 October at the Royal Horticultural Society's Lindley Hall. The new location enables the show to expand the number of universities taking part, and widen its scope to include Foundation course providers and employers offering creative career pathways and apprenticeships.
School students, current foundation diploma and undergraduate students and parents will be able to meet with representatives of world renowned undergraduate and postgraduate courses, offering direct insight into the application process and studying with them.
The fair will be of interest to anyone with serious ambitions to study at the highest level internationally in fields such as fashion, film, fine-art, architecture, graphic design, photography, television, costume, product design, interior design, and illustration.

We have a fantastic virtual event with one of the world’s biggest banking institutions, Lloyds Banking Group. This event is for anyone who might be looking for apprenticeships, work experience or graduate programs this year.
Lloyds Banking Group is one of the world’s biggest financial services companies with over 30 million digital customers. Find out how they help Britain prosper, what makes their culture inclusive, and how their well-known brands are driving real change. At this event, you will participate in workshops, network with their people, and hear about all of the key application deadlines for this year’s opportunities. You’ll hear straight from senior leaders about their journey, as well as recent apprentices and graduates and the advice they wish they’d had when starting out.
In addition, all who attend this virtual event will be the first to hear about and apply for over eight in-person events at their offices all across the UK. These events take place on Saturdays, so they don’t impact time out of school or university. In-person opportunities are very rare, especially at huge banks, so this will be your head start to getting your foot in the door!

Cisco - October Pathways Work Experience is now open for applications!
This programme is for those who are female or identify as female or non-binary, in year 12 or 13, and based in the UK. Applications close Monday 22 September 2025 - so please share this out to your students to encourage them to sign up as soon as possible. The details to apply are below:

Over four days, they’ll meet and explore departments at Cisco, tackle a group business challenge, and develop key skills like interviewing and CV writing. They'll also learn about the pathways into Cisco, hearing from our apprentices, interns and graduates.
To join the virtual sessions, a device with a camera is essential; a laptop is ideal, followed by a tablet or phone.
Pathways to Property –
Pathways to Property is a charitable programme run by Henley Business School that’s designed to raise awareness about the vast range of careers available within the Real Estate industry.
Applications for Year 12 and 13 students are now open for our November 2025 Insight Days in Leeds, Manchester and London. These are fully funded, day events held in our sponsors city offices. Applications will close in 5 weeks on 19th October.

These are fully funded one day events for Year 12 and 13 students who have an interest in the property sector and would like to learn more about the Industry.

Discover Bristol - New Outreach Project for Year 13's!
Discover Bristol is an outreach programme for Year 13 students from lower socio-economic groups to experience life as a student at the University of Bristol through a series of online sessions.
Discover Bristol applications are now open for 2025-26. Please complete this form, to be considered for a place on the programme. The deadline to apply is 23:59 on Wednesday, 1st of October- late applications will not be considered.
Upon successful completion of Discover Bristol, you may be eligible for a guaranteed contextual offer or interview to study at the University of Bristol. The online sessions for students include academic tasters, UCAS and personal statement guidance, student funding and financial literacy, study skills, careers and employability and an overview of the range of support available to students at the University of Bristol. These sessions are delivered in collaboration with current students, student societies, central student services, and the Widening Participation team. Sessions run from October 2025 to January 2026.

Next Step Bristol 2025/26: Applications Open
The University of Bristol’s Next Step Bristol programme is designed to support Year 13 students from Black, Asian and other racially minoritised backgrounds as they prepare for higher education. The programme includes online academic taster sessions, career-focused workshops and opportunities to interact with current students and societies. A on-campus day, with a travel bursary available, gives participants the chance to experience university life first-hand and build confidence about their next steps.
Students who complete the programme will receive either a guaranteed contextual offer (typically two grades below the standard entry requirements) or a guaranteed interview, provided they meet the correct critera and apply by the UCAS deadline.
Applications for the 2025–26 programme close at 23:59 on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, with offers confirmed by Thursday, 9 October 2025. The programme is a fantastic opportunity for students to strengthen their applications and picture themselves thriving at university.

Aberyswyth University – Veterinary Biosciences Taster Event
We are delighted to invite your pupils to a Veterinary Biosciences Taster Event – an interactive, hands-on experience designed to inspire the next generation of scientists and veterinarians.
During the event, pupils will have the opportunity to:
- Attend a Taster Lecture on veterinary biosciences
- Take part in practical demonstrations and activities
- Explore the Anatomy Lab in the Veterinary Education Centre
- Optionally stay overnight in University halls (£48 per room)

Sheffield University
Sheffield's subject taster sessions offer students an opportunity to experience a university lecture or seminar, to get a taste of what studying at university is like. These interactive sessions are available for year 12 and 13 students and there is range of subjects to choose from, delivered both online and on-campus.
You’ll join a group of other prospective university students for an interactive seminar, lecture or workshop. During the session you’ll learn more about your chosen subject, speak to academic and teaching staff, and experience what it’s like to be a University of Sheffield student.

Oxford Brookes University: Virtual Lectures
Are you looking to find out what a university lecture is like or researching undergraduate degree options for the first time? Oxford Brookes have recorded a series of free online subject taster lectures which aim to help you make decisions about your next steps!
This series of seven 30minute lectures covers a broad range of possible degrees, each exploring an interesting theme within that area, and include a question and answer session covering what it is like to study that subject.

University of Leeds: Health and Social Care Visit Days
The Health and Social Care visit days offer students the opportunity to explore the various healthcare courses on offer at the University of Leeds. Students will have the opportunity to meet academics, who through a number of subject taster sessions, will bring their courses to life. They will
also get the chance to speak to current students and have a tour of the campus and clinical skills facilities. Finally, students will hear from admissions staff, who will go through the application process and why students should choose to study at the University of Leeds.
These taster days are suitable for Year 12 and Year 13 students studying on one of the following routes, and who are interested in a career in Health and Social Care: at least one Science A Level (biology, human biology,chemistry, physics, applied science, or psychology)

Thinking Ahead is a free online Engineering Taster Programme, inviting you to learn more about the world of engineering and take part in a sustainability-themed design challenge.
